The famous Kandyan Perehaera attracts a huge crowd each year. Many tourists visit Kandy in the month of August to catch a glimpse of this beautiful and extravagant event. The Kandyan Perehaera is the most famous event which happens once a year and were the busiest time of visitors. Its surrounded by charm plantation and famous for Ceylon tea.

1. Sri Dalada Maligawa

Sri Dalada Maligawa is an ancient Buddhist in Kandy. This temple was built in 1595. It is one of the main attractions in the city. Many tourist and Buddhist devotees come to this place. This also has the relic tooth of Buddha.

2. Kandy lake

Another attraction in the city of Kandy is the lake which is situated in the heart of the city. This lake was a great infrastructure which was designed by the last king of the Kandyan Kingdom. If you are looking for a quiet environment to take a cool walk during the evening or to sit for some relaxation, then the lake is an ideal place you should visit.

Royal Botanical Gardens, Peradeniya is located from about 5km away from the city. This is the largest botanical garden in the country.

The Esala Perahera is one of the extravagant festivals held in Kandy during the month of August. The perahera has a mix of traditional Kandyan dances and other cultural dances.
